An application has been filed to increase the price of electricity |
ISLAMABAD:
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has requested the Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA) to increase the price of
electricity by another Rs 52 paise.
NEPRA
has requested the Central Power Purchasing Agency to increase the price of
electricity by Rs 1.52. The request was made for the October and November fuel
adjustment. In which it has been requested to increase the price of electricity
by 95 paisa per unit for November and 57 paisa per unit for October.
Sold, in November, the fuel cost per unit was
fixed at Rs 2.48 paise while the fuel cost per unit of power generation was Rs
3.44 paise, thus the total production cost of electricity was Rs 25.59 billion.
Both the petitions will be heard in Islamabad on December 30, but will not
apply to electric consumers.
