Police in
the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh have arrested four people for seizing a rare
snake.
According to Indian media reports, the value
of the snake is more than Rs 50 million.
Balm Lumpur City:
In Balm Lumpur city, police arrested four people, including a red sand boa snake, whose venom is used to make medicines and cosmetics.
Police say
there is a ban on catching Nayap snakes and the value of the snake is more than
50 million.
"We
received a tip that some people had fled with a precious snake," he said.
He said a
large number of check-up points had been set up to nab them. During this time,
if the vehicle did not stop at a check-up point, it was pursued.
He added
that the police chased the vehicle and recovered the snakes from the occupants
and arrested them.
